Greetings Friends,
It looks like Lennon and McCartney songs continue to dominate! The Minnesota Beatles Project won best Music Compilation Album in Minnesota! Artists can continually re-do the music of the Beatles and still have it be a success. The Beatles songs continue to be done and re-done time and time again, yet they never get old. Their melodies stand the test of time, no doubt about it.

I will say this though. As much as I love the fact that the music of The Beatles is still kickin' ass, not every arrangement is great. The SGT Peppers Medley that was recorded live sounds like a high school pep band. Fool On The Hill was messed with too much.
But....Come Together is groovy! Sexy Sadie is awkardly sexy and cool. The version of Two of Us is wonderful.
So their are some winners and some losers. However, when you take on a huge project like this and you do the music of the most popular band in history, you can't win them all.

Long Time No Type
Greetings Friends,
My apologies for being horrible at keeping my blog updated. In fact, I straight up haven't. My last semester of college is keeping me quite busy. All good stuff though. Let me give you an updated with my life recently:
I have been incredibly busy with gigs. I have had the great opportunity to be playing with Phil Mattson again. What a treat and a legend in vocal music. We played the ACDA conference in Minneapolis which was great, considering I was able to play with bassist Gordon Johnson. What a treat, considering he has played with most of my favorite drummers, one being Peter Erksine! Check out The Phil Mattson Singers on March 31st at the Artists Quarter!
Also, Small Town Anthem is still in the the studio, some good things are happening and we can't wait to have a product for you all to check out! We book tons of gigs for the summer and one is May 7th at Station 4 where we will be playing for Capitol records! DAMN!!!!!!!!!!
It is SPRING BREAK! YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My senior recital is April 6th at 6:00pm, check that out if you can! It will be at McNally Smith College of Music.
Oh, one last thing. RINGO STARR IS COMING TO MYSTIC LAKE CASINO THIS SUMMER!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ringo Starr's Y Not Album
Greetings Friends,
On January 12th, Ringo Starr released his new record Y Not. Being the monster Ringo fan I am, I had it preordered about 6-7 weeks in advance. I really dig this album, it is the first solo album Ringo fully produced and he co-wrote all of the songs. Two songs of interest are Peace Dream and Walk With You. Why? Sir Paul McCartney is on both tracks! This is probably the closest to a Beatles reunion we will ever get, unless they go on tour!
Over all the album is just feel good Rock N' Roll. Ringo is a huge advocate for Peace and Love, so a lot are about that, plus he reveals some more on his childhood growing up in Liverpool. The album is a very personal album.
Guest Artist also include Joss Stone, Ben Harper, Dave Stewart, and of course Paul McCartney. If you want to some good Rock N' Roll, check out the album!

Oh yeah, he will be playing New York City on his Birthday, July 7th, lets pray for a full out US TOUR!!!!!
