I wish I did not have to take History of Western Music. My brain is fried. Can I respect it, yes. But I guess I simply just dislike very strongly early polyphony. I think it is quite possible that this is all being overanalyzed in the class. They probably just sang the notes, avoided good ole tri-tone, and said, "Damn, that was nice." Plus we have all of these stupid names for the type of early harmony. What the hell is wrong with the word harmony?!?!?!
OK, all of you music geeks that love this shit, I honestly respect, but my brain is simply fried. It is like studying a brand new language, not to mention, one I will never speak especially since my instrument of choice (drumset), is only a little over a century old. Most of this music has no rhythm. Guess what, rhythm is my occupation!
RHYTHM!!!!!!!
