My class Creating a Life in Music at McNally is perhaps one of my favorite courses at McNally and it seems as though each speaker becomes better. I don't know if anyone can top off our last guest in class, John Snyder.
John Snyder seems to have worked with everyone and his resume is looooooooonnnnnngggg. The most important characteristic of John is how great of a guy he is. He CARES about musicians. He is working on changing the industry around so that the music business serves the musicians because we (musicians) are the sole purpose of why the business exists!!!! WHO WOULD OF THOUGHT!!! No more of this corporate crook shit. They have kicked themselves hard and I don't think they will get back up. Of course that could be any corporate business that is in it for the $$$$$ (greed).
Also, a way in which is he trying to help educate people is through his website Artists House Music. Do yourself a favor and check it out. This website is a wonderful resource for ANYONE in the music industry. If you want to learn about producing, education, performing, legal, careers, marketing, etc. Please check this out! It is wonderful!
Thank you John. You were inspiring in every way. You gave McNally Smith students something that is so important, and that is to give us the confidence to believe in ourselves and our music and that we can make it happen with a little guidance and being a smart business person.
