Greetings Friends,
I have been paying much closer attention to the news lately now that I am on Christmas break and I must admit, I have found out why I often don't listen to the news and that is because it is down right depressing. All you ever hear about is the bad and horrible happenings in the world. All I can ask is, WHY? What if the news reporters focused on the good happening? Perhaps we would be living in a different world, one filled with hope and gleam. A world where we wake up and choose love everyday, a world where everyone smiles because they get to wake up and enjoy the day, a world with a healthy work environment where the goal is to be productive and not get by and just get through to the week so they can watch football on the weekend.
What will it take for everyone to get along? How does someone believe putting a bomb in their underwear will really help? Do they have no conscience of the feelings of everyone sitting beside them? Now I share my feelings on a blog that is probably read by 5 people, but you know whay, it is a start. Perhaps it is time to march across the world singing John Lennon's Give Peace A Chance. How beautiful would that be? VERY!
In the meantime, I hope every gig I do with Small Town Anthem, we play that song. It really does give hope. None of this, they attacked us, let us get em back bullshit. That is like a eighteen year old and a five year old fighting over a toy. Remember your parents saying, grow up and act your age to the eighteen year old? Well, America is often looked upon as the adult and the role model to many countries, perhaps we should act our "age." (well at least us Americans put our country into that role I believe.)
Here you go friends. Give Peace a Chance, embrace the enemy, hug them, love them, but don't hate them.
